Venice Events - Fortuny
Mariano Fortuny's life
Spanish by birth, educated in Paris, Italian by choice, Mariano Fortuny was a key figure in European cultural life of early 20th century.
Painter, scenographer and a lover of lighting techniques, his creativity went as far as the creation of materials and printed fabrics, including the dress of peated silk that made him famous worldwide. Today his lavish residence in Campo San Beneto - where Mariano lived and had his atelier - is now a museum where it is possible to see furnishings, paintings, photographs and materials on show in the very rooms where Mariano created them
