Palazzo Fortuny Venice – a World of paper
Palazzo Fortuny Venice – a World of paper
From 15 March to 21 July 2008
Isabelle de Borchgrave meets Mariano Fortuny
More than eighty dresses, unique for being made of paper, as well as accessories and trompe-d’oeil, are on display in Venice at the charming residence-atelier of Mariano Fortuny, demonstrating the skill and talend of the Belgian artist, famous since 1998 for his travelling exhibition Papier à la mode.
The Show, a tribute to the spirit of the place and to the common taste of the two artists, offers on the museum’s ground floor a sort of permanent workshop where a visitor can physically touch the materials used to create the works in their different stages of creation.
