Palazzo Cavalli Fianchetti – The Macchiaioli – Venice
Masterpieces from the Mario Taragoni collectionOpen until 27th July
The exhibition puts on display for the first time the prestigious collection of 19th Century Tuscan paintings, assembled thanks to the passion and critical spirit of the famous Genovese collector Mario Taragoni, financier, economist and a man of culture and great love for paintings. Works on display – acquired in the years between the two world wars and for the great part in the post WWII years – include some seventy works coming from the family’s collection as well as other important private collections. A singular event which offers a glimpse at the private side of a collector who had contributed to the conservation of an important groups of Italian works from the second half of the 19th Century.
