Futurism in Venice, Depero at Museum Correr
Museo Correr, Futurism: Depero in Venice.
Show presented by the Venice Civic Museums as part of the 100th anniversari celebrations of Futurism, offering for the first time the complete precious collection of the Fedrizzi Collection dedicated to Fortunato Depero (1892 – 1960). On view are over eighty works produced from 1914 to 1956, including the famous "Libro imbullonato" of 1927, the first example of Futuristic book – object, and "Nitrito in Velocità", of 1922.
Alongside the oils, temperas and ink and crayon drawings, there are also – to demonstrate the extraordinary multimedia approach of the artist – collages, advertising sketches, wood and fabric marquetries, and interior furnishings. Open until 1 March 2009.
