Calle Larga XXII Marzo and its continuation towards Piazza San Marco are one of the main streets for luxury shopping in Venice. On this street is located the Hotel Saturnia & International.
The street takes its name from one of the most important events of the Venetian Risorgimento: on March 22nd, 1848, the Venetians drove out the Austrians and proclaimed the Republic again, with president Daniele Manin. The Republic, however, lasted very little since on August 22nd, 1849 the Habsburgs returned to dominate the city.
As the name recalls, Calle Larga XXII Marzo is one of the widest streets in Venice. Here you will find the most exclusive shops in the city. Shopping addicted can find the boutiques of the great Italian fashion companies and the most renowned international brands such as Burberry, Gucci, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and others.
In Calle Larga XXII Marzo, right next to the Hotel Saturnia & International, you will also find a pier for your gondola ride, the most picturesque way to explore the city.
