Punta della Dogana Museum - Palazzo Grassi Venice
Mapping the Studio:
Artists from Francois Pinault Collection.
A large exhibition on view in two buildings marks the opening of a new museum dedicated to contemporary art, at Punta della Dogana, a historic complex built in the 17h Century and which once served as customs house and recently redesigned by Architect Tadao Ando.
Conceived as a single artistic journey, the show offers some 300 works from Francois Pinalut's art collection, presented as dialogues between artists of various generations, of various artistic forms of expression and sensibilities: from artists whose works are well represented in the collection - such contemporary art luminaries as Jeff Koons, Sigmar Polke, Rudolf Stingel, Cindy Sherman and Richard Price - to new emerging talents and artists who have been unjustly ignored by the art World.
Show was curated by Alison Gingeras and Francesco Bonami
Open: 10am to 7pm Closed on Mondays, ticket office closes at 6pm
