Hotel Saturnia is positioned in Via XXII Marzo, one of the widest and most elegant streets in the city centre, also aptly known as Calle larga XXII Marzo (the date recalls the 1848 rising against Austrian rule); the street connects Piazza San Marco to the Accademia and goes through some of the most historically-important areas of Venice. It was widened in 1880 by the then-mayor Dante di Serego Alighieri.
