La Fiesta de la Virgen de la Salud - fiesta en Venecia

La Fiesta de la Virgen de la Salud, que se celebra en Venecia el 21 de noviembre, es una fusión extraordinaria y singular entre lo sagrado y lo profano, entre tradición popular y momento institucional. Esta Fiesta, instituida por el Senado de la Serenísima en 1630 para celebrar la protección que la Virgen brindó a la ciudad en ocasión de una grave peste, hace que todavía hoy en día miles de ciudadanos se trasladen hasta la Basílica, cuyo esplendor barroco se debe al arte del arquitecto Baldassarre Longhena.

El encanto de esta fiesta otoñal es extraordinario, casi siempre está marcada por la niebla o por la lluvia y logra emocionar e involucrar a los pocos turistas fuera de estación, que se mezclan con el flujo de peregrinos que atasca calles y plazuelas, entre el susurro de las oraciones y el pregón de los vendedores de dulces.
