Escalera Contarini - Escalera del Bovolo 
Escondida dentro de un pequeño patio, al final de una estrecha calle, lateral al Campo Manin, aparece la Escalera Contarini del Bovolo, uno de los más singulares ejemplos de la arquitectura veneciana de transición del estilo gótico al renacentista.
A finales del siglo XV, Pietro Contarini, hizo que se añadiera a su palacio de S. Paternian un nuevo elemento arquitectónico, probablemente obra de Giovanni Candi, con el objetivo de cualificar  el aspecto de la fachada interna del palacio que daba a  un pequeño patio, en un tiempo protegido por una tapia.
Una serie de galerías superpuestas comunica los varios pisos a la escalera de caracol - en dialecto veneciano "bovolo" – dentro de una torre cilíndrica perforada con arquerías ascendentes.
La subida de la Escalera termina con un mirador a cúpula desde el que se puede admirar un espléndido e insólito  panorama: los tejados, los campanarios, las cúpulas de San Marcos, con vistas sobre la entera ciudad de Venecia.
