2006 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He came to Italy no less than three times, to the courts in Milan and Naples where his precocious talent as composer and msician aroused admiration that was repeated in all the other important European courts.
On one of his travels in 1771, he also stayed in Venice for a while.
A palque on the corner of the house where he stayed, next to the Barcaroli bridge and just a few minutes walk from Hotel Saturnia.
Commemorates the event: "The 15 years old Amadeus Mozart stayed with friends in this hous during the 1771 Carnival, the city of Vivaldi and Goldoni wants to remember the young man from Salzburg in whom the grace of musical genius combined with seventeenth century civility to create teh most sublime poetry.
