MANET & POP ART IN VENICE

The 55th International Art Exhibition will take place from June 1st to November 24th  and it will be, as always, the most important event, but there will be also some other considerable exhibitions and, at least about two, we want to tell you something.
“ Manet. Return to Venice “  from April 24th to August 18th 2013.

70 masterpieces will be hosted in the monumental rooms of the Doge’s Palace and, for the first time in Italy,  the works of this artist will be presented in a very new and significant way. The Venetian exhibition will also highlight his close links with Italy and Venice.

Moreover, the Panza Collection will be hosted at the Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art from October 5th 2013 to January 12th 2014.
This exhibition aims to pay tribute to one of the leading protagonists of international collecting of the 20th century, Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, a man whose passion, intuition and faith in contemporary art have made him possible to create one of the most interesting collections of post-war American art.

Ca’ Pesaro will present a careful selection of masterpieces by the leading exponents of Pop art, minimal and conceptual art, drawn from his collection which is today divided between the Guggenheim in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Los Angeles. For the first time in Italy, it will be possible to see the most secret and also most successful part of his collection, which includes artists like Rauschenberg, Liechtenstein, Rothko, Ryman, Franz Kline, Dan Flavin, Hanne Darboven, Jan Dibbets, Hamish and many more.

Venice alone is worth to return to, but the above-mentioned events become an additional reason to come back. We consider these exclusive exhibitions very interesting also because of their very special placements and choreographies.
