Hotel Saturnia overlooks Calle Larga XXII Marzo, one of the city's main streets. Situated along the road that connects St. Mark's square to Campo Santo Stefano and the Accademia bridge, in 1880 it was enlarged at the behest of the then-mayor Dante of Serego Alighieri, who wanted to give prominence to this important road that hosted the Stock Exchange building and the Chamber of Commerce.
